Eunice Blavascunas

Eunice Blavascunas - an American anthropologist, who since the mid 1990's for over 12 years has been conducting research around the Bialowieza Forest. For many years she has been engaged in activities leading to enlarging the Bialowieza National Park and in stopping clearing of old treestands. A signatory to letters to Polish authorities, one of the leaders of the international action BISON, engaged in initiatives for protection of the Forest all over the world. She takes the initiatives to save nature and combine it with keeping a proper, dignified life of inhabitants. She is an author of a doctoral dissertation at the University of California in Santa Cruz and the subject concerns the Bialowieza Forest area.
