GREAT OAK
(Quercus robur)
(perimeter:589cm, height:41m)
Vertical shows the highest (41m), along with "Macka", oak in
the Bialowieza National Park which is familiar to me. Another BPN
record also belongs to this tree - the biggest total trunk length -
30m. What's rare for the Bialowieza oaks, the crown is very wide-stretching
and the trunk base in the ground is very original, unusual with other oaks
growing here( I know only one which has a similar trunk base- with perimeter
of 499cm). Due to this oak it is easy to notice the uniqueness of trees
growing here and how they differ from well-known oaks growing in an open
area.
